Selects the communication method between the CPS and a radio to facilitate the Cloning operation.

USB

The radio is directly connected to the computer via the Programming Cable and the computer’s USB port.

POP25

Radio codeplug data is transmitted to and from the radio directly over the air without the need of programing cables, using Motorola’s Over The Air Programming (OTAP) feature. OTAP is part of the Programming Over Project 25 (POP25) feature set.

When an Advanced Conventional Key (ACK) or a POP25-enabled Advanced Key is currently loaded in the CPS. See the Advanced Keys Administrator Keystone topic and the Advanced Keys Tutorial's Segment 2.

Bluetooth

Radio codeplug data is transmitted to and from the radio directly over the air without the need of programing cables, via a Bluetooth connection. Bluetooth programming requires Bluetooth Version 2.1 and above.

When the radio has been added as a Personal Area Network (PAN) "access point" on the Bluetooth-enabled computer that hosts the CPS (see also the Bluetooth Keystone's "How To" section).
